Which of these two videos do you like better?

Over the Christmas holidays I chose to add a video to our home page, that describes the benefits from a training course I developed – called the Online Business Blueprint. I decided to jump on PowerPoint and convert the PowerPoint video to flash and later uploaded it to Youtube. Kathy, however, didn’t think much of my video creation skills and insisted that I get it redone. There are many comments on the web around having home made videos as opposed to professional ones. She found Jeremy and first feedback from Jeremy was that this was that my video was awful.  This obviously didn’t help build any rapport with me, but Kathy persisted.

The one comment I remember vividly was “What is the chain?” “Is this a training you get at the Naval Academy and what does this have to do with Internet Marketing?”. My reaction was, how can this guy who has no clue about Goldratt’s work on Critical Chain Management possibly improve my video – boy was I wrong!

I am firm believer in what Rich Schefren says; something worth undertaking is worth doing poorly at first. This helped me get the video out. After all, I was getting good at increasing sign up rates as compared to without the video.

The instructions I gave Jeremy were straight forward:- make the message consistent with what I have and the measure of success will be in signups based on visits to the home page. Which of these two videos gets your attention and would want you to sign up?  So here is my video
