Yahoo + Microsoft vs Google – What could this mean?

Gone are the good old days for Microsoft where they could just buy competitors and dominate the market. Remember how Foxpro was acquired by Microsoft and at that time FoxPro was superior to Microsoft Access. Now Foxpro doesn’t exist any more, perhaps some legacy databases exist some where, that’s it. Since the Microsoft’s anti competitive practices case, Microsoft has become near extinct with Google online domination of search and online properties, until now.

Which of these two videos do you like better?

Over the Christmas holidays I chose to add a video to our home page, that describes the benefits from a training course I developed – called the Online Business Blueprint. I decided to jump on PowerPoint and convert the PowerPoint video to flash and later uploaded it to Youtube. Kathy, however, didn’t think much of my video creation skills and insisted that I get it redone. There are many comments on the web around having home made videos as opposed to professional ones.

10 Strategies to Generate More Leads for Your Business

As 2008 came upon us, we made our resolutions. By now, we have either made plans on how to achieve them, or maybe, discarded them this early. For businesses, "Where to find the next customer?" is a common problem. Some, if not most, small businesses simply rely on sheer luck, putting away their lead generation plans because they don’t have the budget that large corporations do.

Are You Advertising On The Web? Your Competitors Are

Its official. The internet has become the accepted medium of advertising and more businesses are turning towards the web instead of the traditional newspaper, radio and tv advertising which are becoming unaffordable especially for small entrepreneurs.

According to Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB), and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) that released the IAB Internet Advertising Revenue Report, advertising revenues from Jan to June 2007 was nearly $10 billion. This is a 27% increase than last year, at the same time.

More Search Engine Spiders For You

Getting into Google, Yahoo and MSN alone isn't sufficient for your content to be found in searches. Getting the search engine spiders to your site often is equally important. If you have taken care of all the on page optimization factors, with keywords in title, url, H1 tags, meta description, meta keywords, etc and are still not getting your fair share of search traffic, try getting these spiders to visit your site more often by installing custom search modules to your site.

How To Build Links To Increase Traffic

Building links to increase traffic / optimization / links can be segregated into two buckets: On page and Off page optimization.

Once the website is optimized, meta tags, headings, img alt, everything has been neatly labeled and submitted for crawling, the next focus is on off page optimization.
