Getting into Google, Yahoo and MSN alone isn't sufficient for your content to be found in searches. Getting the search engine spiders to your site often is equally important. If you have taken care of all the on page optimization factors, with keywords in title, url, H1 tags, meta description, meta keywords, etc and are still not getting your fair share of search traffic, try getting these spiders to visit your site more often by installing custom search modules to your site.

 

 

To get these Google, Yahoo and MSN to spider your site more often, you can install the custom search widget on your site (like the Google one on the right). Or you can add a a search page dedicated to each of the major search engine. No coding is required to add these widgets and you can add them just about anywhere.

If you are using Drupal CMS, you can add the Google Custom Search module to get a block similar to the one on the right. Or you could just as easily add Google Custom Search for your site.

For Microsoft's Live custom search you can create a search box like this.
