Toplist & SEO Checklist modules

Hi Joe,
Do you have any opinions on Toplist Module and SEO Checklist Module? They look like good features -but I'm so new to Drupal, everything looks like a good feature. Kid-in-a-candy-store kinda thing.

By opinions, I mean, do they follow current best practices? Are there any 'better' modules? Pros, cons, etc.

Thank you,
Kelly

My Opinion of the two modules

Hi Kelly,

Sometimes I don't get to keep up on all the new modules that get posted at Drupal. Thankyou for having me look into Toplist and SEO Checklist modules. For the toplist module, I don't see any benefit to having link tracking enabled inside your drupal instance. If you use a tool like Web CEO or IBP these tools can track inbound links, reciprocal links etc. After reading the instructions I had little motivation to try this module out.

I installed SEO checklist at Drupal sample website, and this has a good list of suggested modules you could have on your site. You really don't need a checklist module, but doesn't hurt. The modules most relevant for SEO on your site (in order of importance) are:
1. Meta Tag Module

2. Page Title Module
3. Global Redirect Module
or Path Redirect

I have added the Goolge Proxy Hacking Protector to my list to test, thanks to the Drupal SEO Checklist contribution from Sprydev, however I am not yet installing this module as checklists don't need to be modules in Drupal.
