Sugar CRM is an open source product. Did you look at other opensource products. Where does vtiger stack up

vtiger

vtiger is a reasonably competitive CRM product you can see used by the Zoho group.

This is probably sufficient for many site owners. Salesforce has additional capabilities and a thriving community.
