How to create a horizontal menu in a page in Drupal?

Hi sir,
I am developing a web site using dripal cms(version 5.7).
I want to display horizontal menus as we see in seoecom home page.
I have all together 20 pages. I want to view the menu items in all the 20 pages.
or for the time being please tell me how can I display some 5 or 6 menu items horizontally in the home page only.
Please help me with a solution as early as possible.
since i am an absolute beginner, please elaborate the steps in a simple way.

I'd suggest you start with a

I'd suggest you start with a Drupal theme that is close to what you have in mind from this list of 100+ free Drupal 5.7 themes. Horizontal themes (with out drop down menus) like the one implemented here are just about the standard for most Drupal themes. For example take a look at Drupal's Aquasoft theme
Then create your primary navigation as per Drupal Primary Navigation setup video. For a listing of modules that I have used for this site, read this article.
