Global Cross Road Capital

Global Cross Road Capital helps find investors for businesses and even has a “live” person helping out as you land on the home page.

The images in the header

The images in the header seem a little complicate with the green tint, almost like a 1980's monochrome monitor. The two left images of the high-rise (condos/casinos/convention centers) look related to 'emerging evidence....' stats in the bottom half of the page, but the images are covered by the Global Crossroads Capital Logo. I can see the 'trade-room' image, but it was not immediately obvious. Not sure what the two right phots have to do with the content. Removing the tent will add color and life to your page.

Consider the following:
(0) Consider working the 'keywords' into text. Give an example of each type of funding. Keywords mean nothing if your visitor is trying to figure out what you do in the first place. I know this is difficult, writers block, etc, but take the time to explain your business on the home page...not just a bunch of keywords.
(1) Make your images color.
(2) If you use the tag-line "where global capital meets the palm treo", the consider moving it (or any tagline) below the header. Its very hidden in its current location. Its not entirely clear what that tag-line means anyway.
(3) Consider using AJAX for your "$Trade Show Floor" rather than the mouse-over effect. The shade of blue doesnt quite work with the deep green. AJAX will solve this problem and look more professional. An alternative is to create internal links rather than the mouse-over. Search engines like internal links.
(4) Some Q & A's are double-spaced....others are single-spaced.
(5) Some of the freebies seem to be unrelated to your site, such as car-advertising and FREE URL SUBMISSION - I dont think people come to your site looking for that, and it distracts from the rest of your content. Some links open in the same page, taking visitors away from your site. Consider using the "_blank" tag to open in a new window. The Forex Affiliate, CFA scholarship and Investing Software at least are somewhat related to your site.
(6) consider making your header/logo a link back to your home page
(7) Privacy policy and disclaimer appear to be the same thing. In practice, privacy policy generally applies to how the website collects visitor information and what is done with it. See https://www.truste.org/ for more info.

My two cents worth. Not trying to rip the site apart....just a few first impressions. Since you asked for feedback, I went in looking for things that may turn me off as a visitor. Other visitors may not be so critical.

Good luck,
kwg

GCR Capital needs web shot in the arm!

• Redesign the site. Layout horrible.
• Remove talking avatar.
• Remove site stats on the lower left.
• Header is too large; 60% of content is below the fold.
• Remove scrolling dot-matrix leader board – Remove link out
• Come up with a better tag line than “We Raise Capital”
• Keyword spamming on home page – need to rework
• Remove calendar feature- non-functional
• Where is the sitemap.txt/html
• No 404 redirect page – need to create one
• 34 duplicate title tags “Title tag duplication”
• Email addresses are not obfuscated
• No analytics
• Missing alt tags
• Missing Meta info
• Where is the 1-800 #
• Any of these will increase conversions, traffic, page rank.

My top 5

1. What your site offers is clear, but with many choices why should I consider Global Cross Road Capital - are there better odds of getting capital, is this for some segment of the population?
2. Does the talking person really help your site conversions? I found it some what annoying or robotic. I have no factual evidence that it helps increase conversions.
3. Ok, I am interested in getting capital - what should I do? This isnt apparent. Make it easy for the person to contact you if you are looking for more leads
4. The geographic map and scrolling text are nice fancy gadgets, but they distract visitors from the objective of taking the desired action!
5. Invest in keyword research and SEO to get better search traffic to your home page
