I want to add a feed to my blog so that people can subscribe by email and by RSS.

Can you give me a step by step guide to doing this? I am aware that there is no subscription module on Drupal and that it will have to be added.

Sometimes in your tutorials, Joe, you assume too much for newbies like me. I need more steps, so hopefully you can give me as much detail as possible.
